Overview The IoT and Embedded Systems Developer plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing IoT and embedded systems solutions. They are responsible for creating innovative software and hardware solutions that enable devices to communicate and exchange data in the IoT ecosystem. This role is pivotal in ensuring seamless integration of IoT devices and contributing to the development of smart, interconnected systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Designing and developing embedded software and firmware for IoT devices
- Creating and implementing IoT communication protocols and networking solutions
- Integrating sensors, actuators, and other hardware components into IoT systems
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop IoT and embedded systems solutions
- Testing and debugging embedded software and IoT applications
- Optimizing and enhancing IoT device performance and functionality
- Ensuring the security and reliability of embedded systems and IoT devices
- Conducting research on emerging IoT and embedded technologies
- Building and maintaining IoT platforms and infrastructure
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting for IoT and embedded systems
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Proven experience in embedded systems development and programming
- Expertise in IoT communication protocols such as MQTT, CoAP, or HTTP
- Familiarity with microcontrollers and processor architectures
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Java
- Knowledge of wireless communication technologies and networking protocols
- Experience with sensor integration and data acquisition systems
- Strong understanding of security principles in IoT and embedded systems
- Ability to work with hardware description languages (HDL) such as Verilog or VHDL
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
