Firmable is Looking for:

• Design and develop database solutions using PostgreSQL or other relevant databases like SQL Server or MySQL.
• Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to optimize database performance and support data-driven decision-making.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data.
• Develop and maintain data pipelines using Spark/pyspark.
• Utilize Python for scripting and automation tasks related to database operations.
• Work with Unix and shell scripting to automate routine database tasks.
• Monitor and troubleshoot database performance issues and implement solutions.
• Ensure data security, integrity, and compliance with relevant regulations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support data-related initiatives.
• Keep abreast of emerging trends and best practices in database engineering.

This Role Requires:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in database development and engineering.
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL and/or other relevant databases like SQL Server or MySQL.
• Strong SQL skills for query optimization and ETL processes.
• Experience with Spark/pyspark for data processing and transformation.
• Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with Unix and shell scripting.
• Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is an added advantage.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
