We are looking for an experienced assistant general manager to help the general manager in directing daily business operations. The assistant general manager should be experienced in a supervisory role, and be able to confidently deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives. The AGM must be able to competently perform duties in the absence of the general manager.
Role and Responsibilities
1. Manpower Planning and Talent Acquisition
1.1. Plan formulation in consultation with the operations head for recruiting and on boarding the required manpower to meet operational requirements.
1.2. Preparing requirement job profile with the concerned Departmental Heads so as to determine the right candidate.
1.3. Management of the complete recruitment life-cycle to attract the best talent from diverse sources and to develop the leadership pool.
1.4. Ensuring right candidate fit by understanding the requirement in depth and thereby improving the selection ratio.
1.5. Preparations of salary fitments, salary negotiations, prepare offers and ensure joining.
2. Joining formalities and Induction:
2.1. Management of HR database, and timely updating it.
2.2. Preparing the Offer letters and Appointment letters and completing the joining formalities.
2.3. Preparing and Scheduling Induction programs and coordinating with various department heads.
2.4. Sending the documents for background verification, maintaining Employee Database, Leave/ Attendance data, performance data, and med claim data.
3. Training and Development:
3.1. A Preparation of training budget and calendar based on the corporate objectives.
3.2. Co-ordinate activities for the identification of training needs of employees for upgrading their technical and soft skills.
3.3. Maintaining the training requisition forms, attendance, training feedback forms and checking the effectiveness of the training.
4. Performance Appraisal:
4.1. Managing Appraisal process across the levels and establishing framework for substantiating Performance Appraisal system linked to Reward Management.
4.2. Coordinating in the formulation and implementation of increment, incentive and other remuneration policies.
4.3. Identifying talent for taking up higher responsibilities.
4.4. Introduced KRA for all the different levels.
5. HR Policies & Strategies, Policy review and deployment:
5.1. Preparing HR polices & Strategies and in implementation.
5.2. Documentation of such practices and its verification.
5.3. Reviewing policies and streamlining other processes in the company.
6. Payroll, Compensation & Benefits:
6.1. Processing Payroll and submitting the PF and PT returns
6.2. Completing necessary Insurance and medical cover formalities.
7. Employee Relations and Welfare and Exit formalities:
7.1. Ensuring prompt resolution of employee grievances to maintain cordial management-employee relations.
7.2. Issuing advice / warning letters and conducing Enquiries and further disciplinary action.
7.3. Keeping track of employee’s activities in terms of confirmation, promotion, and their separation.
7.4. Updating the employees from time to time about the company policies and changes.
7.5. Handling all kinds of employee’s queries and complaints.
7.6. Cancelling and couching for performance improvement.
7.7. Conflict resolution.
7.8. Carrying out exit interviews so as to know the trend and check the attrition rate.
7.9. Arranging for the full and final settlement of resigned employees.
Knowledge, skill & abilities (KSA)
· MBA in HR
· 8-12 years of proven working experience as HR Manager (preferably in a manufacturing setup)
· People oriented and results driven
· Demonstrable experience with Human Resources metrics
· Knowledge of HR systems and databases
· Ability to architect strategy along with leadership skills
· Excellent active listening, negotiation and presentation skills
· Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
· In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
· Degree in Human Resources or related field
Preferred Skills
· Proven experience working in an HR department
· Natural interpersonal and communication skills
· Strong detail-oriented and resourceful mindset
· Knowledge of PeopleSoft or similar software is a plus
· Knowledge of HR federal laws and regulations
