Tata Steel Hiring for Researcher/Principal Researcher Lubricant Application at Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, India

Purpose of the Job

• Experience in formulating cold/ hot rolling lubricant and thorough knowledge on the application.
• Characterization and testing of lubricants
• Monitor lubricant health in rolling mills and maintain a data base to ensure compliance with standard.
• Understanding the lubricant application in rolling mills and assist team in defect identification and lubricant trials with co-ordination between R&D, Quality and Operations
• Design and fabricate experimental set up or technique to simulate plant conditions.
• Compile and interpret test results and write technical reports and prepare graphs and charts.
• Maintain and upkeep safe work environment at R&D laboratory.
• Order and inventory materials and spares to maintain supply.

Job responsibilities

• Monitor lubricant health across cold rolling mills and maintain data base
• Co-ordinate and assist cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality and Operations) during defect identification and lubricant trials in plant
• Ensuring safety and ISO compliance in laboratory
• Compile, interpret test results and writing technical reports
• Characterization and testing of lubricants

Skills

Skill:

Should possess prior knowledge of rolling oil development, steel rolling mills and lubricant application.

Other details

M.Tech/ PhD in Chemical/ Oil/ Petrochemicals/ Polymer Engineering

M.Sc in Chemistry

Minimum 3 years of working experience in area of lubricant formulation and application.

Experience in developing rolling oils will be an added advantage
