Reporting Relationship: Lead, Public Health —> Head, Public Health

Locations: Jamshedpur, Jharkhand

Purpose of the Role: To provide personal, family, and community-orientated comprehensive primary care medical services to individuals. S/he would also be responsible for providing patient-centric, culturally appropriate, and individual holistic care to a defined population.

Key Deliverables:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Public Health to develop and implement strategic initiatives for various public health projects.
  • Assist the Head – Public Health in planning, reviewing, monitoring, and evaluating the impact of programs and initiatives led by project teams.
  • Establish the Centre for Public Health (CfPH) within specified timelines, under the guidance of the Head-Public Health. The CfPH will serve as a public health policy think-tank for TSF, testing and standardizing public health models in the field and scaling them up to state, regional, national, and international levels.
  • Oversee regular professional and managerial training for public health employees to enhance their skills.
  • Take overall responsibility for immersive internship training programs for public health interns from external academies and institutions.
  • Conduct epidemiological investigations of both communicable and non-communicable diseases, providing appropriate solutions to public health challenges.
  • Apply research findings to improve community health services.

Minimum Qualification: MD (Community Medicine) from National Medical Commission-recognized Medical College in India of repute and national standing with work experience OR qualifications such as PhD/ Masters in Public Health/ Post Graduate Qualification in Health with experience in public health with reputed organisations.

(Additional professional qualifications and work experience related to Public Health / Public Health Administration shall be given due weightage.)

Work experience in years: 05 years.

Functional Skill Sets:

  • All skills as required for Doctorate in Medicine (MD) as per NMC standards.
  • Should have good knowledge of epidemiology and biostatistics, communicable diseases, maternal and child health and all public health domains.
  • Public Health Management, Financial Management in relation to public health projects.
  • Project Planning, Management, Monitoring and Evaluation
  • Should be able to lead and guide her/his team based on scientific public health principles & stay abreast with regards to latest developments in the field of medical research.
  • Good drafting skills in relation to public health proposals
  • Good Communication skills; Read-Speak-Write English, Hindi

Behavioral Skill Sets: Self-motivated, result oriented, aligned to the Tata code of Conduct (TCoC), energetic individuals with proven leadership skills and scientific approach to public health activities/research shall be strongly preferred.
