WHO ARE WE: Tata Steel Foundation is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Steel Limited and was instituted on August 16, 2016. With over 1000 members spread over ten units and six states of Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, and Punjab, the Foundation is a CSR implementing organization focused upon co-creating solutions, with tribal and excluded communities, to address their development challenges. The organization is committed to playing a larger role in India’s sustainable development by embedding wider economic, social, and environmental objectives through its programmes and underscored by a vision to create an enlightened and equitable society.
The Communication vertical of Tata Steel Foundation is an emerging vertical that brings to the table an element of scouting for the right intent, talent, and zeal befitting the ever-spreading universe of development communication. It has been evolving rapidly and continued to encompass newer and exciting lenses on the communication of our programmes, leading to the larger endeavor of creating impact ecosystems within the universe of the Foundation. Following are some of the core areas that the Communication engages in:
1. Brand Strategy and implementation
2. Digital Communication (Intranet, Website, and social media)
3. Internal Communication (IC)
4. External Communication (EC) (Jharkhand, Odisha)
5. Thematic Communication
Reporting: Communications Consultant < Manager, Digital Communications < Sr Manager, Communications, TSF
Job Responsibilities:
Input
1. Assist the role of Manager, Digital Communications in coordination with all locations and verticals of the Foundation to identify potential stories
2. On-field coordination to enable interviews, research, and content creation
3. Liaise between teams and Communication to ensure a two-way flow of data and packaged content, as mapped to the monthly calendar for social media and website
4. Co-create campaign, monthly plans for SM, and website updation
Process
5. Conduct research on the latest trends and topics on Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Facebook and present lists of topics relevant to TSF work.
6. Curate short video content (especially in reel-based format) for the organization’s social media channels.
7. Conduct in-person and telephonic interviews of stakeholders for the purpose of drawing out content for social media channels.
8. Assist in the implementation of the social media calendar and content pipeline.
Output
9. Loop back SM posts for effective communication output to communities
10. Monitor and analyze social media metrics to measure content effectiveness and identify areas of improvement.
11. Work steadily at creating a two-way communication channel for >2mn persons for TSF in 3 years’ time.
Candidate Preferences:
1. Pursuing or recently completed a degree in digital marketing, mass communications, journalism, or a related field.
2. Familiarity with popular social media platforms and their best practices.
3. Basic knowledge of video editing software like, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, etc.
4. Experience in handling social media accounts (Whatsapp, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube)
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
6. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
