Job Description

The Context/Purpose of the Job

  • Monitor lubricant health in rolling mills and maintain a data base to ensure compliance with standard.
  • Understanding the lubricant application in rolling mills and assist team in defect identification and lubricant trials with co-ordination between R&D, Quality and Operations
  • Design and fabricate experimental set up or technique to simulate plant conditions.
  • Compile and interpret test results and write technical reports and prepare graphs and charts.
  • Maintain and upkeep safe work environment at R&D laboratory.
  • Order and inventory materials and spares to maintain supply.
  • Assist in ISO 9001:2015 documentation.
    Monitor lubricant health across cold rolling mills and maintain data base
    Co-ordinate and assist cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality and Operations) during defect identification and lubricant trials in plant
    Ensuring safety and ISO compliance in laboratory
    Compile, interpret test results and writing technical reports
    Spares management system.

    Skills

    Work as member in research project
    Patent/paper writing
    Leading independently research project

    Must have skills in (Min 3 years experience in the following):

    Cold Rolling Mill – Sheet Metal
    Sheet Steel Mill
    Operations or Quality (no Mechanical Maintenance)

    Good to have skills in:Cold Rolling Lubrication

    Other skills:
    Good written and verbal communication in English (must have) and Hindi (good to have).

    Other details

    B.Tech/M.Tech in Chemical/Mechanical/Metallurgical Engineering/Any relevant engineering field which is a subset of the given fields
    MSc Chemistry/Physics

    Exp:
    3 years of working experience in mill operations/ Quality in cold Roll steel mill. Experience in handling cold rolling lubricant would be added advantage
