Job Description

Tata Cancer Care Foundation is looking for Consultant Anaesthetist to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journey.Preoperative Assessment: Conduct thorough preoperative assessments of patients to evaluate their medical history, current health status, and any potential risks or complications associated with anesthesia. Determine the most appropriate anesthesia technique based on the patient’s condition, the surgical procedure, and any other relevant factors.

Anesthesia Administration: Administer various types of anesthesia, including general anesthesia, regional anesthesia (such as spinal or epidural), and sedation, to induce unconsciousness, numbness, or reduced sensation during surgical procedures. Monitor patients vital signs, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels, throughout the procedure.

Intraoperative Care: Maintain the patient’s physiological stability and ensure adequate pain management during the surgery. Adjust anesthesia levels as needed and respond promptly to any changes in the patient’s condition.

Emergency Management: Possess the skills and knowledge to manage emergency situations that may arise during surgery, such as severe allergic reactions, cardiac arrest, or adverse drug reactions. Provide advanced life support measures when necessary.

Postoperative Care: Oversee the patient’s recovery from anesthesia and manage their pain and comfort during the immediate postoperative period. Continuously monitor the patient’s condition and administer appropriate interventions to prevent complications.

Collaboration: Work closely with surgical teams, including surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure coordinated care throughout the perioperative period. Provide expert consultation and advice on anesthesia-related matters.

Teaching and Training: Contribute to the education and training of medical students, residents, and other healthcare staff. Stay updated with the latest advancements in anesthesia techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.

Research and Quality Improvement: Engage in clinical research, audits, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, safety, and the overall quality of anesthesia care.

Patient Communication: Communicate effectively with patients and their families to explain anesthesia options, address any concerns, and provide clear instructions for the perioperative period.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, including preoperative assessments, anesthesia plans, intraoperative details, and postoperative progress.
