Position: – Staff Nurse

Qualification: – GNM/ BSc. Nursing, Registered with State Nursing Council

Job Description: –

A. DIRECT PATIENT CARE

1. Admission and discharge of the patients.

2. To maintain the personal hygiene of the patients, including bathing, care of mouth, back,bowel ,bladder, nails, hair etc.

3. Care of pressures points as needed.

4. To assist the patient in elimination, offering and removing the bed pans and urinals.

5. Bed making, assist in feeding the weak and debilitated patients.

6. Writing of diet sheet, supervision and distribution of diets.

7. Assist in physiotherapy, ambulation and rehabilitation.

8. Carry-out patient’s teaching and demonstration according to the need.

9. Counseling the patients, and relatives.

10. Care of the dying and dead.

11. Administration of medicine and injections to the patients.

12. Assist in administration of intravenous injections, infusion and transfusion.

13. Observing, recording and reporting of vital signs e.g. T.P.R. and blood pressure.

14. Carry out technical procedures, such as Naso-gastric intubation, gastric lavage, oxygen therapy, Dressings and irrigations, Enema, Catheterisation, hot and cold applications, suction , preparing for and clearing up after procedure etc.

15. Collecting, labeling and dispatch of specimens.

16. Urine testing for sugar and albumin.

17. Observation, recording and reporting of all procedures and tests.

18. Escorting serious patients to and from the department/ wards.

19. Assistance and instructions to patient and their relations.

20. Giving and removing of bed pans and urine pots.

21. Giving and removing of hot water bottle.

22. Preparation of injections and clearing up.

23. Recording of medicines & injection given.

24. Accompanying for rounds with doctors and ensuring all orders are carried out.

25. Giving and receiving reports and alertness of critical values.

26. Timely reporting of non functional equipments/instruments to concerned department& respective incharge/ supervisor.

B. WARD MANAGEMENT

Handing over and taking over charge of patients and ward inventory in each shift.

Maintenance of therapeutic environment in the ward.

Keeping the ward clean and tidy.

Routine care and cleaning of dressing trolleys, cupboards, apparatus, mackintosh etc.

Care of clean and soiled linen.

Disinfection of linen, beds, floor and bed pans, and fumigation of rooms etc.

Preparation of surgical supplies, bandage, splint.

C. GENERAL

ü Assistance in orientation of new staff nurses.

ü Participation in staff education and staff meeting.

ü Participation in professional activities.

ü Any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: ₹15,100.00 – ₹30,000.00 per month
