The Manager FP&A, Manufacturing Operations, this role reports functionally to the Senior Finance Manager
Manufacturing Operations, Wabtec India and is the point of contact for all site related financial reporting.
Responsibilities include overseeing and managing the monthly financial close process, strategic planning,
budgeting, and forecasting for the plant. The FP&A Manager will also work with Purchasing and Manufacturing to
review manufacturing costs and variances.
This position is a member of a cross-functional site team and must be able to partner with leaders from other
areas of the business including but not limited to Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Project Management and
Human Resources, to achieve the business plan and would lead the finance planning and analysis for
Manufacturing Operations in India for Locomotive Business and own the Consolidation for all related Supply Chain
operations and initiatives.
Essential Responsibilities
The FP&A Manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives and will
work closely with the Finance, Manufacturing Operations& fulfilment Leaders in driving sound business analytics,
business plan, budget, and productivity analytics.
Management of the monthly financial close process. Generating financial statements in accordance with local and
US GAAP.
Gain and maintain deep understanding of the business unit’s financial health and key drivers. Active engagement
in preparation and participation for various reviews
Development of a sound budget and 3-year strategic plan.
Driving business performance to meet performance commitments monitoring all KPIs.
Developing accurate and predictable business forecasts. Report on the financial past, present and future
performance of the business unit, with a deep understanding for the drivers behind variances (including earnings,
expenses, and future operations). Review weekly results to forecast to understand potential risks and
opportunities.
Ensure compliance with Corporate accounting practices and procedures and internal controls. Ensure complete
compliance with Sarbanes Oxley requirements, ensuring procedures and internal controls are in place each
respective business unit within the Group.
Support analytics around plant metrics to enable visibility of productivity ideas and cost optimisation
Prepare and drive labour and overhead rate computation, submission, and reviews as per SoX requirement also
analyse labour and overhead absorption.
Strong cost accounting and manufacturing background as understanding of costs and variances are key to the
profitability of the Company. Work with Purchasing and Manufacturing to understand root cause of all cost
variances.
Gain and maintain deep understanding of the business unit’s financial health and key drivers, manage working
capital metrics including accounts payable.
Qualifications / Requirements
Master’s degree from an accredited university or college / Chartered Accountant Qualification
A minimum of 5+ years of finance, accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Strong information systems/ERP system experience
Prior finance leadership roles
Desired Characteristics
Prior experience managing a multi-functional Finance organization is preferred
Ability to work under tight deadlines and to prioritize under pressure
Ability to summarize and communicate effectively with cross-functional areas in the business and with executives
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
