Position Overview:

As an Outside Publication Sales Representative, your primary responsibility will be to sell advertising space and secure partnerships for various publications. You will work outside the office, visiting potential clients, building relationships, and promoting the publications to generate revenue and increase circulation. This role requires excellent communication, negotiation, and sales skills, as well as a strong understanding of the publishing industry and market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales and Revenue Generation:
  • Identify and prospect potential clients, including businesses, organizations, and agencies, to sell advertising space in publications.
  • Conduct in-person meetings, presentations, and product demonstrations to showcase the benefits of advertising in the publications.
  • Negotiate advertising rates, contracts, and placement to maximize revenue and meet sales targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure ongoing business partnerships and repeat sales.
  • Continuously seek new opportunities for revenue growth by staying updated on market trends and competitive publications.
  1. Market Research and Analysis:
  • Conduct market research to identify target industries, businesses, and organizations that align with the publications’ target audience.
  • Analyze market trends, competitors, and customer feedback to develop effective sales strategies and product positioning.
  • Monitor industry developments, advertising trends, and customer preferences to adapt sales approaches and identify new opportunities.
  1. Customer Service and Account Management:
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as design and production, to ensure timely and accurate delivery of advertisements.
  • Manage and maintain client accounts, including tracking sales, updating customer information, and preparing sales reports.
  1. Collaboration and Reporting:
  • Collaborate with the internal sales team and management to develop sales strategies, set targets, and achieve overall company objectives.
  • Provide regular sales reports, including sales activities, revenue forecasts, and market insights.
  • Participate in sales meetings, conferences, and industry events to network, gain industry knowledge, and represent the company professionally.
