Job Description

The Context / Purpose of the Job:

Develop strategies to ensure achievements of the business KPI as per the ABP. Develop a culture of customer centricity, cost management, people development, innovation and deploy best practices of Operation to ensure achievement of Target plant availability and reliability.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

• Pre-job safety communication with shift personnel. Schedule safety observation and communication regarding safety issues with the respective section in charges & Head of the department.
• 100% implementation of all Safety recommendations to avoid reoccurrence of incident.
• Knowledge of process improvement tools like TPM, TQM, six sigma and kizen.
• Supervising all the parameters of furnace, control pulpits for getting required quality index.
• Coordinating with all cross functional teams for shift planning to reduce the downtime.
• Monitoring of Daily Management KPI like yield, rejection, oil consumption, cobbles etc and take immediate action in case of any adverse deviation.
• Conduct QC meetings as per schedule and do the brain storming session to arrive at root cause for the respective deviation.
• Active participation in the Knowledge Management community and horizontal deployment of best practices in his area.
• To implement all suggestions of respective area after checking feasibility.
• Explore the developments in the latest rolling practices and implementing the same to improve the present process system.
• Documentation of all the different audits.
• Ensuring housekeeping and upkeep of plant.
• Ensure the development and adherence to SOP.

 

Technical Competencies:

• should have knowledge of metallurgical aspect of hot rolling.
• knowledge of steel grades.
• Different types of defects which are generated during hot rolling and its rectification.
• Should have idea about the importance of critical parameters during hot rolling e.g. laying head temp, cooling parameters, etc.
• Knowledge about application of different grades of steel.

 

Education Qualification – B.tech Production / Mechanical Engg.

Note – The candidate must have experience in Hot Rolling Mill
