- Public relations (PR) strategy and management
- Support in planning and executing media strategy for BAGIC aligned by reviewing business and growth strategy, changing market/ customer focus, competition activity, and required brand positioning in the market across print, online, and television media
- Responsible for communication media research, strategy, planning, integration, execution, and key messaging goals along with their measurement standards
- Responsible for managing BAGIC’s public relations through network-wide credible media channels. Augmenting corporate recognition and reputation in the media by leveraging company announcements
- Responsible for expanding BAGIC’s media outreach landscape by developing media relations on a pan-India level. With the geography expansion strategy, responsible for PR exposure in rural and semi-rural cities and towns in addition to metro cities
- Responsible for creating informative content, press releases/ notes, responses for media queries, authored articles, blogs, interviews, media Q&As, media briefing documents, FAQS, and also explore media opportunities to increase the brand recall of the company along with its products and services
- Conceptualize, create and pitch content in line with the organization’s objectives, strengths, products, and trends in the market
- Pitching interview/ interaction opportunities for senior management and MD & CEO as thought leaders to enhance the company’s visibility in the media
- Responding to communication-related issues in a timely manner
- Managing Crisis Communication for BAGIC which helps protect, maintain and sustain brand reputation with different stakeholders
- Keeping a track of news that could potentially turn into a crisis situation. Review sensitive issues & crisis and prepare or organize press conferences, holding statements/responses to be shared with contextual media to ensure immediate actions, thus avoiding negative impact on the company’s reputation
- Maintaining a repository of all negative stories to be then shared monthly with the Risk Team in order to mitigate risk in a timely manner
- Communication management
- Create media communication strategies for press conferences, new product launches, company announcements, events, and promotions
- Support in content creation for internal consumption for employees and key stakeholders to ensure appropriate communication guidelines
- Explore opportunities for senior management participation in various media led conferences, panel discussions, summits etc. which positions BAGIC as thought leaders across the insurance sector
- Liaison, coordinate, publicize, and execute various leadership engagements with academic bodies, industry bodies, and other corporate/ media events
- Responsible for briefing the concerned spokesperson for media interactions
- Responsible for preparing media briefing documents for spokesperson with respect to media interactions and other participations/ engagements
- Responsible for spokesperson media training as and when required
- Research media coverage and industry trends of the company and competition
- Responsible for sharing media coverage received with the concerned spokesperson
- Coordinate and collaborate for various events and launches within the company
- Collaborating with the brand team for press events like agency selection, stage designing and render finalization, launch theme, event flow and script, MC script, dry-runs with stakeholders, etc.
- Working closely with brand and digital marketing teams to ensure uniform communication across channels in alignment with BAGIC’s communication protocol and strategies
- Analysis of media reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis and subsequently chart out communications plans that are aligned with the needs of the business
- Support and mentor internal communications team for various internal newsletters, designing, collateral development, photo-shoots, script-writing, etc.
- Overseeing and managing the workflow for the external communications team to ensure consistent and quality outputs
- Conduct performance evaluations of the external communications team
- Undertake interviews and hiring for external communications as required for the team functionality
- Training new external communication team members for a seamless transition into BAGIC processes and workflow
- Ensuring teamwork and collaboration within the team along with providing learning opportunities for the team’s development and growth
- Cross-functionally working with companies under Bajaj group as well as partners to collaborate for external and internal messaging of the company
- Relationship Management
- Liaison with external media, such as journalists, editors, show hosts, and other personnel across media platforms to strengthen their perception of BAGIC’s products, services & initiatives. Leverage media relationships with them to enhance brand’s visibility through editorial content in stories/articles related to personal finance and insurance
- Coordinating with spokespersons and assigned SPOC for validating content going out on external media publications or forums
- Liaising with the media and journalists regularly to create opportunities that help strengthen brand visibility
- Conducting media visits to journalists Pan-India pitching new story ideas and opportunities which overall strengthen the relationship between BAGIC and the media fraternity
- Reaching out to journalists who are covering competition to explore stories with BAGIC
- Liaising with business functions to understand various industry trends in order to pitch story ideas, create content as required, and further establish such opportunities with the media
- Proactively source, select, and manage external agencies
- Working with stringer network Pan-India for crucial announcements which require nationwide exposure
- Collaborating with other departments for consistent and high standards of brand communication and reputation management
- Operational Review
- Support in reviewing coverage reports (by media tracking agency) on daily basis to analyze the presence and compare visibility with the competition. Reviewing monthly media analysis to understand ranking and share of voice of brand vs. competition
- Responsible for preparing detailed media activity reports
- Developing and improving policies for Corporate Communications for effective internal and external communication for stakeholders
- Recommend and help implement processes for organizational enhancements, as appropriate, to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of communications activities
- Responsible for managing deliverables and ensuring quality assurance standards are met
