Your future role
The Product Support Manager has responsibility for the efficient management and control of all sales enquiries from the quote through to delivery and after sales support. This role will require regular customer site interaction for product inspection and support.
• Discuss the appropriate margin levels with the General Manager in creating estimates and quotations for our customers.
• Work with the sales staff to develop new and innovative ways to improve estimating accuracy and improve the time in completing quotes for customers.
• Assist in the coordination of local marketing efforts.
• Provide relief support to sales & business development team in the absence of sales team members.
Key Responsibilities
• Ensure that all after sales enquiries are managed in a timely and professional manner.
• Follow up with end users on a regular basis as to the performance of their Austin Engineering products.
• Provide technical advice and assistance to all customers in a timely manner.
• Carry out regular visits to sites to follow up on all Austin Engineering products supplied to customers and respond to warranty issues.
• Compile comprehensive reports for internal use and customer issues.
• Manage and provide sales estimates and quotations where required.
• Assist Engineering Department with operational input for new product and spare part estimates.
• Raising detailed job cards and providing detailed scope of work information and instructions to the relevant departments.
• Work closely with the workshop and planning department to communicate scope of work information to ensure budgeted costs are achieved.
• Liaise with the workshop and planning departments to ensure timely delivery of all projects and keep the customer updated on progress.
• Ensure all relevant department managers are informed of any customer issues arising during the project which may lead to a delay in delivery, or a cost overrun.
• Assist Technical Support Rep with technical advice when required.
• Assist with the maintenance of the operations quality system.
• Provide internal recommendations on product improvements from customer feedback in the field including the collection, collation, and analysis of product performance data.
• Assist with the annual budget by providing information to finance department and/ or India Accounts Director.
• Coordinate and manage all enquiries received by the sales department for all new products and after-sales support.
• Keep up to date with competitors’ market price movements and in particular, current competitor strategy.
• Follow the quoting and tendering procedure in accordance with the Corporate Delegation of Authority document.
• Ensure that all quote estimates are based on up-to-date input costs for labour, steel and other miscellaneous materials and subcontract services.
Knowledge & Skills
• Engineering trade qualifications or Engineering degree qualified essential.
• Extensive knowledge of and experience working with mining attachment products, specifications, and performance.
• Experience with Microsoft software packages desirable.
• Knowledge of contemporary trends and issues within the mining industry.
• Experience in sales & marketing essential, estimating and quoting favourable.
• Excellent leadership and project management skills.
• Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
• Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and provide exemplary customer service.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability.
• Highly motivated self-starter.
