Responsibilities

Role & Responsibilities:

• Monitoring of Boiler, Turbine, Generator, BOP, Electrical Systems etc.
• Start up and shut down of the above system.
• Safe isolation and normalization of equipment.
• Handling the emergencies.
• Routine changeover of equipment and trial of emergency drives.
• Handling the emergencies (internal / grid problems)
• Preparation of permit for issuing to maintenance.
• Following PTW system., SOPs.
• Notifying and timely reporting about defects, problems in plant to shift in charge.
• Developing and grooming sub ordinates.
• Close observation of parameters and respond to deviations.
• Keeping Energy conservation in all activities. (SOC, APC, DM water, Heat rate)
• Maintaining all documents as per standards.
• Supporting / following HR initiatives (PMS, Surveys, meetings)
• To maintain cordial relation with counter parts of maintenance.
• To follow organization culture and values.

Principle Accountabilities

• Normal and efficient operation of Units.
• Safe Start up and shut down of units.
• Safe isolation of equipment and normalisation /restoration of equipment and system.
• Optimise and maximise the generation as per requirement of BD and SLDC/WRLDC.
• Safety of self, co-workers and machinery.
• Maintenance of log books, log sheets , check lists and other operational documents.
• Carry out off scheduled trial run of critical equipment’s and tests.

QualificationsEssential Qualification: BE (Power / Electrical / Mechanical / Electronics)

Desired Qualification: NPTI / BOE

Essential Area of Expertise: Boiler operation. Turbine operation, Coal mill operation. Electrical systems Operation. Interlock & protection of all equipment of Coal based thermal power plant (Not less than 300MW unit size) operation.

Desired Area of Expertise: Power Plant Performance Monitoring. Know how about Scheduling and ABT.
