As an Inventory Management Specialist, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory control, including conducting periodic cycle counts, wall-to-wall inventory audits, generating reports, and resolving discrepancies in collaboration with customers. Your role will be crucial in maintaining accurate inventory records, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with established procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Periodical Cycle Counts:

  • Plan and execute regular cycle counting activities to verify the accuracy of inventory records.
  • Coordinate with warehouse personnel to schedule cycle counts for different inventory categories and locations.
  • Conduct physical counts of inventory items according to predetermined schedules and reconcile discrepancies identified during the counting process.

Wall-to-Wall Inventory Audits:

  • Organize and conduct comprehensive wall-to-wall inventory audits to validate the accuracy of inventory levels across all warehouse locations.
  • Develop audit plans and allocate resources effectively to ensure thorough coverage of all inventory items.
  • Document audit findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams to address any discrepancies or anomalies identified during the audit.

Reporting:

  • Generate regular inventory reports to provide insights into inventory levels, turnover rates, and variances between physical and system counts.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas for improvement in inventory management practices.
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports as requested by internal stakeholders or customers to support decision-making processes.

Discrepancy Resolution:

  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in collaboration with customers, warehouse personnel, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Analyze root causes of inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding inventory discrepancies and work together to implement solutions and process improvements.
