Tata Steel Hiring for Manager – Structural Insp & Maintenance at Gamharia, Jharkhand, India

To ensure structural integrity at TSG, do the maintenance and augmentation of the structure to ensure the safety at workplace and meet statutory compliance. Provide technical consultancy and design solution to the plant for all civil and structural design related issues and also to improve structural integrity of ageing structures/buildings. Develop design solutions to meet customer specified requirements based on site visits and fundamental engineering.

Job Responsibility

• Configuration of steel structure in SAP PM, develop inspection schedule, ensure periodic inspection of all building structures and technological structures.
• Comply with the points generated from inspection and close those in defined time. Preparation of SOP and ensure safe execution
• Discuss with user department, arrange for shutdown to do the work.
• Define the repair methodology, bring innovative idea to repair, knowledge about corrosion of steel structure and methodology to prevent the corrosion
• Preparation & implementation of augmentation plan. Periodic interaction and communication with special vendors. Mentoring of contractors. Knowledge about SAP MM, UMC, USC system, technical negotiation, bill certification, maintain relationship with vendor and resolve their issues.
• Provide Design solutions addressing safety and ergonomics. Drive appropriate Engineering calculations.
• Drive one of the Key TQM initiatives and ensure all TQM initiatives to be followed and maintained in their respective areas.
• Ensure proper work flow for timely completion of design requests.
• Drive Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) excellence initiatives across all respective work units to achieve zero Fatality and limit LTI within the target. Take proactive measure to provide appropriate and time bound solutions to design issues affecting safety and environment.
• Should be able to collaborate with other TSL design teams (TGS, Engineering Projects etc.) to develop civil-structural design & engineering solutions
