Role Description

Key Objective/Overall Job Responsibility

Research and Development(R&D)department of Tata Steel Limited, Jamshedpur is focused on coal

and coke making technology development to improve the productivity and property of metallurgical coke,

along with development of new products and processes in the field of carbon materials from the waste and by-product.

Researcher with relevant knowledge and skills is required for expediting the technology development and scale up process.

Researcher is expected to quickly understand the strategic importance of these technologies and adapt new ways for faster scale up of the same.

• Conduct research on coal and coke making technology, property improvement of metallurgical coke, decarbonization, development of catalysts and additives for process improvement, advanced carbon materials and waste utilization.
• Lab scale and large-scale execution of research projects.
• Managing and handling of advanced research equipment’s in coke making, materials synthesis and advanced analytical characterization.
• Collaboration with external agencies in the research projects.
• Documentation of research finding, patent, paper drafting, report preparation, presentations.
• Conduct lab experiments and managing labs and equipment as per ISO 9001:2015 and EHS Management System
• Scale up of technologies from lab to pilot and demo scale.

Skills

Skill:

Knowledge of coal and coke making process,chemical reaction engineering,characterization techniques of carbon products,

decarbonization technologies, MS office and any other data analysis tools

• Skilled in oral and written communications and presentation at all level of the organization.
