You will be working as Sales Specialist and will be part of Motion Business Area for Service Division based in Jamshedpur, India. In this role you will be reporting to Service Sales Specialist and will be responsible for generating service sales opportunities and securing profitable sales within the designated area(s). Focusing on installed base penetration (IB) and selling the entire service product portfolio. Building long term customer relationships and ensuring immediate response to specific customer needs and issues.

Your responsibilities

  • Penetrating the IB, promoting various upgrade, retrofitting and value adding solutions to the benefit of the customer and ABB. Updating the installed base with the changes made at site on a regular basis
  • Utilizing service database to understand the existing IB. Identifying and developing sales opportunities for service products and solutions to penetrate the existing IB/new IBs in the market. Focusing on the entire service portfolio to secure profit for assigned business units/product groups
  • Generating service sales leads and developing new market opportunities by utilizing market trend information, identifying and exploring potential new service portfolios
  • Establishing long term customer relationships by understanding customer requirements and applicable regulations and demonstrating in-depth technical service product/solutions knowledge to promote Life Cycle Management (LCM). Registering customer feedback and ensures customer satisfaction throughout the sales process
  • Selling entire service product portfolio to expand ABB footprint in the designated area(s). Charting out and monitoring sales proposals, tenders and follows up proposal statistics
  • Preparing sales plans using company tools. Performing regular status reviews and proposing recovery plan(s) in cases of potential order shortfalls
  • Acting as a marketer/salesperson of ABB’s service products and solutions during marketing activities. Identifying and driving the development of new market opportunities in the designated market and ensures knowhow sharing and cross-collaboration
  • Contributing to risk assessments related to price and quality. Registering required information into the appropriate customer database. Ensuring technical reliability, safety and cost-effective solutions to satisfy customer’s needs. Complying with health and safety directives

Your background

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics)
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in sales/service sales
  • Skills in value-based selling, verbal and written communication
  • Good knowledge in Variable Frequency Drives (Low/Medium Voltage VFDs), Motors and Generators (LT and HT), Industries and various applications
  • Proficiency in operation of Microsoft office tools
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and address key issues with maximum integrity and professionalism
