A social media manager for an online news portal is responsible for creating and executing social media strategies to increase the reach and engagement of the news portal’s content on various social media platforms. Key responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing a social media content calendar that aligns with the news portal’s editorial calendar and overall marketing strategy
• Creating and curating engaging social media posts, including text, images, and video content, to increase engagement and reach
• Monitoring and analyzing social media metrics to evaluate the performance of social media campaigns and make data-driven decisions to improve performance
• Collaborating with the news portal’s editorial, marketing, and technical teams to ensure social media content aligns with the overall strategy and goals
• Engaging with followers on social media, responding to comments and messages, and proactively identifying opportunities to build relationships with followers
• Staying up-to-date with the latest social media trends, best practices, and new features, and recommending new ideas to improve the social media presence of the news portal.
